Acupuncture has been proven to treat many physical conditions along with conventional care. Affordable acupuncture services are available through Winchester Hospital in conjunction with the New England School of Acupuncture.

Students of the New England School of Acupuncture graduate with a Masters of Acupuncture degree after completion of the three-year program. During the third year of study, students work as interns to complete a year of clinical training under the supervision of licensed acupuncturists. Winchester Hospital offers services of these interns at two locations in Wilmington and Woburn.

Acupuncture is often effective in treating arthritis, asthma, back pain, headaches, migraines, high blood pressure, fertility problems, chronic fatigue, pregnancy induced nausea, dizziness, allergies, skin disorders, anxiety, depression, insomnia and stress. The acupuncture needles, which stay in the body for 20 to 30 minutes, are not painful.

Appointments are available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Winchester Hospital's Family Medical Center, 500 Salem St., Route 62 in Wilmington and the Community Health Institute at Baldwin Park I, 12 Alfred St. in Woburn. The fee for acupuncture treatments is $25. For more information or to make an appointment, please call 781-756-4700.
