Vietnam will start construction
on a hospital that will provide free acupuncture
treatment for handicapped children in northern Hai
Duong province in July, said Dr. Nguyen Tai Thu,
chairman of Vietnam’s Relief Society.

Dr. Thu told media
June 20 that the hospital would treat and provide
food free of charge for 150 disabled children.
The hospital will cost 51 billion VND, or 3.2
million USD, to build.
Previously, disabled children were only able to
receive treatment at the Central Acupuncture
Institute in Hanoi. There are also plans for a
similar
hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam’s Relief Society has so
far helped provide free treatment for more than
300,000 children.
