Canadian Cancer Society co-hosts Traditional Chinese Medicine cancer symposium

The Canadian Cancer Society, BC and Yukon
Division is inviting media to the kick-off of the 2005 Traditional Chinese
Medicine Symposium. Taking place on Friday, August 19th at 11:00am in the
Board Room of the Canadian Cancer Society, BC and Yukon Division, the event
will feature the two Co-Chairs Mason Loh QC and Dr. Stephen Lam. Kayla
Stevenson, Director of Revenue Development with the Canadian Cancer Society
will also give opening remarks.

Medicine Symposium

    The Traditional Chinese Medicine Symposium

    The Canadian Cancer Society and the College of Traditional Chinese
Medicine (TCM) practitioners will be hosting the symposium to explore the
impact of TCM on cancer prevention and treatment. The Symposium will take
place on Saturday, September 24th, 2005 and Sunday, September 25th, 2005.

    Venue:       Victoria Chinese Restaurant at Royal Centre, Vancouver
                 downtown
    Ticket:      $100 per person (proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society, BC
                 and Yukon Division)
    Program:     Chinese banquet with keynote speaker: Professor Tony Mok

    Public Forum on September 25, 2005 (Sunday)
    Venue:       Chan Centre Auditorium at Child and Family Research
                 Institute, UBC
                 950 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver
    Admission:   Suggested donation $20 per ticket at the door
    Program:     10:30am - English, 1 pm - Mandarin, 3:30 pm - Cantonese
    Topic:       TCM in clinical practice and on-going research worldwide
